Canary Melon

Botanical Name: Cucumis melo inodorus
Description: Canary Melon is named for its bright yellow rind which resembles the color of a canary when it is ripe. This oval shaped melon’s outer skin has a slightly waxy feel. The soft flesh, almost a salmon orange color, tastes both tangy and sweet with a mix of fruity tones. A perfect accompaniment to citrus, herbs like basil, mint and cilantro, it adds a unique flavor to fruit salads, sorbets and is perfect mixed with other melons. Be sure to harvest only bright yellow melons with absolutely no green coloring on its skin.
