Thai Basil

Botanical Name: Ocimum basilicum
Description: Thai basil, or “horpa” in Thai, has a unique flavor unlike other traditional Italian basil. The Aroma is stronger and it has a sweeter, peppery flavor. The green, 2” long leaves on hearty purple stems have a spicy, anise clove flavor. Vietnamese cooking uses this herb abundantly as well. This spicy basil is added to a variety of soups and curry as well as used fresh, try it as flavorful garnish for sweet dishes. This small aromatic herb grows well in containers.
